Happens all the time ... But it would be nice to know whether this is really his. DMV can not find the file, under the FOIA, in order to verify the ownership of a vehicle. Google sure your state DMV to find out ask how to get a DMV.

I like going to the DMV, or go the Secretary of State and lost a title before I buy it (if it were something that would cause)

I agree with others to achieve a level of review of the DMV, you may need including the sheriff or Highway Patrol to come to a VIN. Control of the caravan. the VIN number and not a car fax check to see if they add up and saved by the owner. If you do not have any bumps that may be more important to correct insurance companies. and can be as superficial damage. When to check the chassis number and the seller nervously to the idea to take the number i finally Alookie police to her. If it is clean, also can ask the police to have a drug dog while to see if drugs or have in this is for your safety.

Go to the DMV and is not a vehicle history. Anyone who tells you that you have already been called because it is a pick-up, and some states do not require certification of campers. If you have never been allowed, the DMV wants to accompany an application made by a signed contract, and probably an affidavit. So, my advice to avoid that the position of future problems.

Not for sale without plans to purchase the title, is not good, with a title, if the owner can go to local DMV and get a lost real cheap

Noooooooooo ... TITLE

You can call your local DMV to answer your questions and AT THE SAME TIME, you get the right answer to your question.

You do not have the title might imply that he is the rightful owner, so I wonder where and how they have overcome. It may have nothing to do with a kind of damage, but could certainly stolen again to you, when they discovered they were.
